Setting up a device

1. Install Maenun Host on the Android device you want to reach, open it and follow the checklist. It asks you to turn on Developer options and Wireless debugging, and opens those settings screens for you.
2. Connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi.
3. In Maenun, tap + to open Add Device. Choose the device when it appears.
4. On the Android device, open Wireless debugging and tap “Pair device with pairing code”. Enter the 6-digit code in Maenun.

A card for the device appears on the home screen. Tap it to see the screen.

The device does not show up in Add Device

• Check that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. Guest networks often keep devices from seeing each other.
• On the iPhone, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network and make sure Maenun is switched on.
• Open Maenun Host on the Android device and leave it on screen while you add it.

The pairing code is not accepted

• The code changes every time the pairing screen is opened and stops working when that screen closes. Keep it open until Maenun says the device is paired.
• Close the pairing screen, open it again and use the new code.

The device worked before but will not connect now

• The Android device needs to be switched on and connected to Wi-Fi.
• Check that Wireless debugging is still on. Android can turn it off after a restart or when the Wi-Fi network changes. Maenun Host has a button that opens the setting.
• Open Maenun Host once so that it is running again.
• If Maenun says the device is not set up, delete its card and add the device again.

The picture is slow or blurry

Press and hold the device’s card, open Device Options and lower Max Screen Size, Max FPS or Bit Rate. A lower setting is much smoother on mobile data.

Removing a device

Delete its card in Maenun; that also deletes the device’s record from our server. On the Android device, open Wireless debugging and remove the paired device, then uninstall Maenun Host.

Using a device from another phone

A device connects to one Maenun app at a time. To move it to a different phone or tablet, first let go of it in one of two ways: delete its card in the Maenun app that has it, or open Maenun Host on the device and tap “Disconnect from the Maenun app”. Then add it from the other Maenun app.

Adding a second device

During the launch period Maenun is free and connects one device. When you add another, Maenun offers to replace the one you have.
